The role of adaptations for the roller curtain drive

The roller curtain drive is placed in the winding curtain tube, also called the winding axis. To install this motorized drive, it is necessary to have a ring, also called a crown + wheel. Both of these elements constitute adaptations for the drive. The role of each of them remains different:

Wheel: It is an element in your adaptation kit designed for reliable connection of the pipe and the drive during the operation of the roller curtain. It will be located between the motor and the pipe. It is necessary to move it along the motor body before inserting the ring and put it on the winding pipe.
Ring/crown: It is installed at the opposite end from the motor head. Completely hidden inside the curtain axis when the motor is installed, it allows the main body of the motor to be perfectly aligned along its entire length and display the number of revolutions made within the end positions. It is installed only after the wheel is installed.

Crowns and wheels are integral to the tubular motor of the roller curtain. They must be present, properly positioned and in perfect condition to perform their function and protect the curtain from subsequent damage, do not forget to replace them when worn out. Does the curtain not stop in the upper or lower position? Check the crown/ring alternately, they may be incorrectly positioned or broken. And the wheel may not be able to display the number of revolutions correctly.

The choice depends on three things:

Brand of roller curtain drive
Diameter of the roller curtain drive
The model of the pipe / winding axis, that is, its shape and diameter
